Introduction video transcript

Neurodiversity is a natural variation in how our brains work. It's not a collection of disorders. It's not a set of diagnoses to memorise. It's just a fact about people. And when you understand that, it changes the way you design work. But two things get in the way. One is seeing these as deficits which need to be fixed. The other is framing it as a superpower. So neurodivergent people are valuable as long as they're exceptional. Either way, you're putting people into a box. So here you'll learn what the common neurotypes can look like at work. You'll learn what masking is and how much it costs the person doing it. And why the superpower story hurts more than it helps.
